What:
An incubator for propagating moss on stone.
Why:
Many aquatic plants benefit from emersed propagation rather than submerged growth. Plants have direct and effectively unlimited access to CO2, along with stronger access to light, which creates ideal conditions for faster and healthier development. To create a more efficient and organized system for propagating decorative moss stones, a platform was needed to hold differently sized and shaped stones in place while controlling emersion height, moisture, and humidity.
How:
A platform with a pattern of circular holes allows stones of different shapes to sit stably while leg slots make the platform height adjustable. The result is a simple bed that keeps the bottom of the stones submerged while leaving the top above water and moist. Moss can grow quickly and undisturbed, anchoring itself to the stone without the waste of rubber bands or string typically used to tie it down.
