What:
I developed and continue to refine a digital literacy program that introduces students to creative technology while helping families better understand the digital tools surrounding them.
Why:
Students were growing up around AI, social media, and connected devices, but needed a safer and more grounded way to learn how those tools work and how they can be misused.
How:
I build lessons, worksheets, workshops, and tool recommendations with teachers, then refine them through classroom use so the program stays practical, current, and easy to continue.
Case Study: KEA Digital
Program Setup
- Built curriculum around creativity, safety, and critical thinking instead of passive device use
- Structured lessons so teachers could reuse materials and adapt them across age groups
- Added coding, robotics, image-making, and digital ethics as connected parts of one program
Classroom Projects
- Used pixel art, stop motion, photospheres, and maker activities to make technical ideas approachable
- Designed projects that let older and younger students learn together and reinforce skills socially
- Iterated each year based on what students understood quickly and what needed more support
