2021, Vancouver / Lighting / 3D Printing
What:
A white noise fountain that emulates falling rain.
Why:
To some, the sound of rainfall is calming. The Rain Box brings the sounds and sights of rain to a desk or tabletop. As an ambient lamp it can provide a visually dynamic, and aurally soothing white noise for relaxing.
How:
The tank is made from small picture frame glass and squarium silicone
The pump is an easily sourced off-the shelf 5v USB submerged pump.
The light is a repurposed LED Cob bulb power by a 5v USB.
The rainfall lid comes in 6 individually 3D printed parts

Lamp shade = separates the LED from any liquid and diffuses light
Sprayhead = controls the flow of water from the pump
Drip Tray = can be swapped for different drop patterns and further diffuses light
Rack spacer = allows spray head and drop tray to be separated
